    TO KICK OFF SUPER BOWL WEEK

    The GOO GOO DOLLS will kick off Super Bowl Week with a live performance Sunday, January 30 at the 2011 Pro Bowl in a special opening ceremony on FOX, the NFL announced today.

    Broadcast live on FOX at 7:00 PM ET from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, the Pro Bowl will be held one week prior to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year and serve as the signature kickoff event of Super Bowl Week.

    The Goo Goo Dolls will perform on the field moments before kickoff in a pregame show that will celebrate fans, the NFL All-Stars, all 32 NFL teams, including the participating Super Bowl teams.

    The Goo Goo Dolls have remained one of the most acclaimed songwriting forces in rock music for over two decades. The Award-winning, Grammy Nominated and multi-format chart toppers have enjoyed a string of hits that have earned the band the all-time radio record for “The Most Top 10 Hit Singles in History” according to Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Adult Top 40 chart.  Singer/songwriter John Rzeznik, has been the recipient of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award, and has penned a series of hits beginning in 1995 with the No. 1’s “Name,” “Iris,” and “Slide,” followed by “Black Balloon,” “Broadway,” “Here is Gone,” “Big Machine,” “Sympathy,” “Better Days,” “Stay With You,” and “Let Love In.”

    Goo Goo Dolls new album, Something For The Rest Of Us, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, has earned raves from such media outlets as Billboard and USA Today, which praise the heft of Rzeznik’s songwriting as he addresses the emotional fallout from economic upheaval, war, and a 24-hour news cycle on society.
