  • Official Goo Goo Dolls Statement About Mike's Departure
Over the past few days you may have heard through the internet that our drummer of the past 19 years, Mike Malinin will no longer be touring with the band.

It is true Mike is no longer with the band, but we wish him the best in his new journey and hope that fans and friends alike will take a minute to consider this decision was not taken lightly by anyone involved. Things happen personally and professionally that drive difficult decisions like this, but rest assured we are looking forward to continuing our 28 year journey as GGDS.

We can't wait to share more music and memories with all the fans and friends that have been such a huge part of our lives.

    Happy New Year!

Official Goo Goo Dolls Statement About Mike's Departure

Understood. Things happen and although it is unfortunate for whatever the reason the decision was made by the people that are the originals of the group (Johnny & Robbie) for reasons they feel is right. We cannot be angry as we are not in control nor do we know what has happened but in the end it is their decision. We are sorry to see Mike go.... but life goes on and so do the Goo Goo's. We can only hope they find a drummer as good as Mike (which I believe they will). Judy

Thanks for the update. While I am sure we are all saddened by the decision, things happen for a reason. Good luck to Mike in his future endeavors! Love the Goos no matter what!

Hey we all learned to adapt when George left so we learn to adapt now that Mike is gone. I was fortunate enough to to see the new drummer perform with the band at the "No Snow Ball Concert" in Boca Raton, FL this past December, and he did a great job. Rock on!
