  • Sept. 7 Show In Houston Will Go On

Goo Goo Dolls announced their upcoming show at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, TX will go on as scheduled next Thursday, September 7th. In light of the unspeakable devastation that Hurricane Harvey has inflicted on the city this past week, the band is encouraging concertgoers to bring non-perishable donation items to the show. All donations, along with 100% of the band’s merch sales for the night, will go to the Houston Food Bank. Those who are able to bring non-perishable donations will receive a $20 dollar ticket at the box office. The venue and band are also granting free entrance into the show for first responders and their families with proof of ID & first responder badges.

Goo Goo Dolls and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion hope to echo Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s sentiment “the city of Houston is open for business,” and provide Houston with an evening of optimism and appreciation for the heroic first responders and residents of Texas. The band and opener Phillip Phillips will be in the parking lot of the venue from 5:30-6:30pm on the night of the show to help collect donations and thank Houstonians for their resilience during this terrible tragedy.  The band had the following to add:

“After reflecting upon the tragic devastation brought on by Hurricane Harvey and Mayor Turner’s recent comments that Houston is indeed open for business we have decided to move forward with our show at the Woodlands.  We want to do our part to not only gather donations but to also hopefully give people an evening of much needed enjoyment.”
