Hi girlntx, 2394, Bluedust, Missy, gooangela, jmt928 how is everyone this fine gloomy Monday? It has been pretty quiet here on the IM. Hope everyone is doing okay. Well I am happy to say that my son is learning the guitar to "Slide"! He plays the guitar Johnny plays which is an electric guitar. I have been tring to get him to do this for about 5 months now. He knows about the first 45 seconds of it. Wow he has made his momma so proud once again. Well thought I would share that moment with you all. Take carzzzzz! ....gg1

googirl1-It has been quiet here lately, but new pictures have been posted and those pictures might bring in some new conversations!
So your son is learning to play slide? That's awesome!! How long has he been taking lessons? I'm thinking about taking lessons with my son. I'm hoping it would be a great mother/son thing to do together. Especially since I'm not the best person to be tossing footballs or shooting hoops. I also have two left hands when it comes to video games. But learning how to play guitar would be cool. (Although he's already said he wants drums, too) OUCH..

Hi jmt928, I think that would be so fun to take lessons with your son. How old is he? My son is 14yrs. If he plays the drums don't forget to buy yourself some earplugs! :O When my son hooks his guitar to his amp it is so loud. I make him turn it down. He has not been taking lessons, he taught himself how to play. But ever since he bought his guitar which was back in June, I have been begging him to play Slide for me. It is my MOST FAVORITE song! You know watching Johnny it looks soooo easy. But when my son explains everything it is very detailed. I am not the outdoorsy type either.... :)

Googirl1 that's so cool that your son's learning how to play Slide! I remeber that you said that he'd only play Blink182 at one point, they're cool and all , but of course our Goos are so much better! Well ladies I'll try to check in tomorrow morning, I won't be home til late tomorrow, A's playof tix baby! Look for me I'll be on the second deck behind the backstop, about 6 rows up, with a black Robby beanie, a black jean jacket, and I'll even wear my blue GGD shirt! I may be eating something knowing my luck or trip coming back to the bathroom. Well adios chicas! Mucho amor!

googirl1- my son's turning 7 next month, but I swear to you he acts like an old man most of the time. He is WAYYY beyond his years! He always displays amazing talent at whatever he does, so learning an instrument just seemed fitting. (Plus I want to learn, too) I must sound like a bragging mom, but what parent doesn't? (ok I can complain about 'em at times, too) He loves the GGD's, too. Always singing their songs, playing an air guitar, etc. It's really cute to watch.
