Hello My Fellow Goo Heads:
April 9th is a very important day for many of us but most importantly...the band. Only 17 more days to wait. The long awaited Goo Goo Doll album ****OFFICIALLY**** hits the record stores. Throughout the last two weeks, the fans have been flooding the phone lines and sending endless emails to various radio stations requesting "HERE IS GONE" and to our delight...our voices have been heard. Whether you screamed, demanded, politely asked or even begged...whatever tactic you used to get "HERE IS GONE" played worked! The disc jockeys have given in to our requests/demands and have been playing the song often to the point of putting into HEAVY ROTATION. Earlier today, I spoke (off the air) with Race Taylor of 95.5 WPLJ and commended him and the rest of the crew that they are doing such a great job playing the song. Race said, "Kinz, at the rate the requests are coming in for this great song...it looks like we will be playing it every hour"! Well, I think this is just great. It goes to show you that YOUR voices are really being heard but it also shows just how powerful the masses are. So, this is where I am asking all the fans to take the *GUTTERFLOWER OATH*. The Goos have been together through thick and thin...hell and back throughout their music career. They were blindly lead by having what seemed to be a GOLDEN RECORD CONTRACT only to sign it with a poisonous pen that eventually gave them the royal screwings. They had to sue their record label to buy their name back and create their own website that is solely theirs. Now, I see a post stating that their new album that is not ***OFFICIALLY*** released yet already being downloaded? This really discusts me. Why can't people just wait like the rest of us to buy and hear it? You would think that the only people who have access to their new album would be their own record label and radio personnel. Therefore, someone leaked out or should I ****SOLD OUT**** (they say everyone has their price) for money. They didn't do it for nothing? Otherwise, what would they have ogain from it...right? This is ***STEALING***from someone. For those of you who say its not...your wrong. This is how they make their money. This is their livelihood. How would you feel, if it were your music and profits being taken out from under you? Im sure you wouldn't like it either. So, I am asking all of you to take the following oath. By doing so, you are not only proving that you are a loyal fan, but you are also reinstating that stealing from someone is wrong, unacceptable and just not a cool thing to do.
*~*OATH*~*
Please raise your right hand and state your name out loud, I (this is where you state your name...LOL) will support my favorite band the Goo Goo Dolls by buying their new album the day it's ****OFFICIALLY**** released. As a fan, I will show my dedication to the band by buying a brand new CD for each stereo system that I have. One for the house, one for the car, one for the portable CD player, one to have as a backup (in case I should burn/melt one from over playing it) and one for sending out to a friend who has yet to be introduced to the Goo's music. I will NOT give in to DOWNLOADING, TAKING OR STEALING any of their music for free. Also, I will NOT BURN THEIR NEW CD to make copies for my friends. I will encourage my friends to go out and purchase the new CD just like I did. In the long run, I will try to help them surpass their last record sales and by doing so...it will encourage them to keep doing what it is they love to do and that is making great music and performing live.
You guys blow our mind sometimes . . . . . .
be cool
