Can't understand why they would spend 185 million dollars to rebuild the dome.....when people are still without HOMES!!!!!

They probably found the cost of tearing it down to be prohibitive. If you're going to spend millions, you might as well get something out of it. My guess is that it's mostly sponsorship money from the companies listed on the banner - Allstate, Gatorade, Beer, Beer, Beer ....

I also think that they've spent a lot of time figuring out where to rebuild and how to build. Maybe too much time; that's always a judgement call. I think it's unforgiveable that they haven't hauled away all the trash and flooded cars though.

Amen to that, Paula57.

Robby : Hey look! It's Willie Nelson!
John : That's not Willie Nelson, that's Colonel Sanders!
Mike : Ya think he has any chicken on him?
Robby : Yeah, let's ask him for some extra crispy!
John : I think you two are crispy enough. Now leave the guy alone and lets get changed.

I can't wait to watch them on ESPN tonight!!

Yeah I'm with you girlintx (#1). It doesn't make too much sense to me either.

Unfortunately, football means big bucks to the town in tourism revenue. So, that's why it was built before the homes. It brings cold, hard, cash...and great guys like the Goo's to New Orleans.

Just saw the GOOs on ESPN!!!!

I am so happy, I just saw the Goo's perform Better Days! I wasn't sure if it would be televised here in Canada! Hi everyone, Love to you all!!

Hey 2394...it was awsome wasn't it?!!!!

Yes it was girlintx, I can't wait until November when they come to Toronto!

I SAW THEM TOO!!!!! How did we get so luky to find a band that's so completely awesome and wonderful as them? I mean I heard Sympathy on the radio one day and I was sucked in from there, and gooangela you saw the "Better Days" music video and look where you are now, what if that had never happened? It's gotta be fate. Hope your Monday is going well ladies, and hopefully I'll talk to you all later!

Yeah!!! I just saw them perform too. They sounded really good. Too bad they didn't play more songs. Hello Missy, and yes, I'm glad Monday is almost over. Shouts out to BlueDust, gooangela, indymom, 2394 and SeattleSiren.

Hey maryann777! Long time no blog, how's life? Who do you think that guy is in the background? He's kinda big, John Madden maybe, he is doing Monday night football this year I think. That'd be awesome if the guys got to meet John Madden. Has U2 performed yet? I hope I didn't miss them.

Missy - I believe U2 is coming on at 8:30 p.m. and Prison Break is on now. I kinda dig that show.

Hey maryan777 are you on the E. Coast? It's only 5:20 right now. Wait I think they are going to come on right now!!!!!!

Missy - I just saw them perform. Billie Joe Armstrong sounded and looked real good but I had to switch back to Prison Break. It's the only show I watch during the week. Hope you get to see it soon. I think you'll like the performance.

Girlintx; because the football team brings in revenue...which is what the city needs...in order to rebuild.

Oh man! First of all, shout out back to maryann777! How are ya???? Missy, if I had never seen the "Better Days" music video that would have sucked! I mean I wouldn't know this "world", so I wouldn't know what I was missing out on, but I'm glad I'm a part of something where I know I'll always be accepted. Sorry, shitty day again.

I was there and have tons of pics and video. It was awesome they were there for the re-opening of our dome. LOVED IT!!!

Sorry gooangela about your shitty day, didn't have a good one myself, but it does help to know I'm not the only one. My best friend might be leaving the school for independent study at the end of this week. I'm sad for myself but happy for her because she needs this, but really I am going to miss seeing her at school. But why was your day bad? Mondays are always horrible, maybe tomorrow will be better. You always have to have hope for a better tomorrow. (: Have a great night!

Exactly jeannak60 and tigertiff, i'd love to see your photos and video! Can you send it myspace @ www.myspace.com/terigoo143? It would mean a lot to me! Please send me a message and I'll add you as a friend. I'm making vacation plans to head down to Mardi Gras now since tourism is one thing that will help them out of their slump! Kudos to Reggie Bush-the Saints player for all he has done too! He's barely out of college and signed, but felt deep down in his heart that the right thing to do was to help in any way he could. God Bless him!

Willy Nelson??? Where??? (I wonder if he has any of that Native American sweet grass on em :) )

I don't know, but I hear there's already a waiting list for the next hurricane. Everyone wants to be evacuated on Willie's bus!
